Despite they still looking for people that join in their team, they don't want any kind of suggestion or tip. (...). I think they haven't idea of what do.
If you want make a remake you must do what the original game just could not at the time and bring such new features. Rtcw was a Wolfenstein game heavily inspired by Wolf3d, with a single player similar to Quake2, dark and evil as Quake3. Starting from that there are many things to improve the game, adding bosses and weapons for example, add new various levels instead of ruin the old maps, correct old map bugs. Only then, make a coherent improvement for sound and graphic. Titeuf85 has discovered a good deal: add new locations, characters and enemies, that makes interesting a project! Bump mapping and dark shadows do not.
Well said, HellBaron. I think that the
Rtcw Remake Mod authors need to re-think their mod. The remakes of the original maps are fine as an alternative, as long as they aren't forced onto the player. If I'm not mistaken, they were going to leave the original maps untouched, but provide the remade maps as an alternative.
Also, I'd still like to see a download link posted here for the beta 2.0 release.
